My mom was visiting recently and throughout our mother-daughter shopping time I noticed something interesting. The vast majority of the merchants I made a purchase at asked me if I'd want to get on the subscriber list. That's very intelligent.

But, the WAY in-which they did this made a big difference in my response. I said NO to the majority of them since they only did not make it alluring for me personally. Say the words 'VIP' in my experience and my ears perk up. It obviously is short for 'very important person.' And generally speaking it indicates a-level of respect and advantage. Suddenly I WANTED to be on that subscriber list, specially when the salesman told me it came with specific benefits, such as early notice on an individual purchasing service, new arrivals, and private trunk shows.
